7th December 2010

It's 3am now. My mind and heart are not at ease. Well, for the least I feel its not. No particular reason though.

Today, I would like to discuss 3 simple words. Simple but deep words.

SACRIFICE

PRICE

TRADE OFF

Studying these 3 words closely, you'll come to realize that these 3 words are technically in a way or another inter-related, inter-linked with each other.

Sacrifice: An act of sacrifice is like an exchange. For instance, exams are coming, students are sacrificing their sleep to burn midnight oil in order to be able to achieve greater academic grades. It's an exchange. Exchanging your sleeping time for better grades.

Price: A value you pay for an exchange as well. For instance, you're famish. You would pay RM5 for a plate of noodle as it is the price you are required to pay. Once again, it involves an exchange. Exchanging money for food.

Trade off: A very obvious act of an exchange. For instance, you can either go on a date or study at home. By choosing to go on a date, you're trading off your time to study at home. Trade off, it's a choice. An option. Which one would you choose? Nonetheless, it's an exchange.

There is no such thing as a free lunch. In order to get something, you have to sacrifice another thing. You have to trade off another thing. There is a price for it. As you can see, how vulnerable yet powerful "something" could be.

I've already decided on which road I will take in the future. Hence, I would not regret my decision. I would not look back and think about the road not taken. Why? Coz, this is my decision.

I've decided to give it a try and another try while I feel it
s worthwhile.

I'm aware of the sacrifice I'm making.
I'm aware of the trade off I'm making.
I'm aware of the price it will cost me.
All in all it's a worthwhile compromise.

An exchange I'm willing to surrender.

Till then.
